# Create & Edit Competition

Administrators can create new competitions or edit upcoming / active ones.

Editing is restricted based on the competition's state (see below).

**Restrictions**

* Only **Upcoming** and **Active** competitions can be edited.
* **Past** competitions are locked and cannot be changed.
* Once a competition is **Active**, the **Start Time** and **Trading Program** become non-editable.

The fields in the competition are:

| Field                          | Description                                                                                                                                          |
| ------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Competition Name**           | The title of your competition. Keep it short and clear (max 100 characters).                                                                         |
| **Trading Program**            | The program this competition is based on. You can't change this once it's set.                                                                       |
| **Start Time**                 | When the competition will begin. Shown in UTC. Can't be changed once the competition is active.                                                      |
| **End Time**                   | When the competition will end. Must be a future date. Can't be today or in the past.                                                                 |
| **Contestant Number Limit**    | The maximum number of participants allowed. Must be at least equal to the current number of users in the competition.                                |
| **Currency Prize Pool**        | The type of currency (like USD) used for the prize. Based on available currencies in your system.                                                    |
| **Prize Pool**                 | The total prize amount. Must be at least $5 and no more than $2 billion.                                                                             |
| **Checkout URL**               | A link users can visit to learn more about the competition. Must be a valid website link (URL).                                                      |
| **Additional Message**         | Optional. Use this to share any notes, rules, or reminders with participants. You can hit ENTER to add line breaks.                                  |
| **Show Last Five Trades Only** | Turn this on if you want participants to only see the last 5 trades in their account history. Useful for limiting visibility during the competition. |
